On May 8, a bill that modifies the General Urban Planning and Construction Law entered the Chamber of Deputies in order to establish the obligation to bury cables.
This bill seeks to establish a new obligation for companies that distribute their services through cabling, which must install the new cables underground and bury those that are already in operation.
Along the same lines, the initiative contemplates that electricity, telephone, cable television, internet and any other companies that provide their services through a cabling system must adopt the necessary measures to reinstall aerial cables through the burying of the same, which will be equally applicable for the installation of new cables. The indicated procedure should give priority to the burying of cables in the historical centers of our country that have been declared a national monument.
